Permanent Upgrades Scour every nook and cranny to uncover rare keys and unlock your full potential. More health, more speed, more power.

So, it’s a platforming rogue-lite. I’m good with that. Collecting these treasures will extend your own abilities, such as granting a double jump or lengthening the duration of your slide. You also have a whip, which can be used to swing yourself around.

Once that relic is recovered, that particular temple is gone forever — so while it is a race against other players, especially if player numbers go up, generally Phantom Abyss is single-player and can be taken at whatever pace the player chooses.

There are certain level 3 whips that influence your movement speed in a variety of ways, one will make you run faster.

The competitive multiplayer aspects come Phantom Abyss Game from challenging either friends or other players to recover dropped significant loot, such as keys or relics. The big deal with Phantom Abyss is that the levels are randomized, with the idea that a temple exists until someone claims the relic at its center.

It's time for Phantom Abyss to transition out of Early Access and into 1.0 later this month, on January 25.
